According to rumours, Britney Spears’s cheeks went as pink as her frock at the first X Factor auditions, with the singer storming off stage in a strop.

The first day of filming for the US series kicked off in Texas yesterday evening, with Britney rocking up in a sheer pink dress that showed off her impressive cleavage… without actually showing it. We could all see she wasn’t wearing a bra, mind.

And despite looking chuffed to be on the set â€" waving at the cameras with a big grin on her face â€" it all went a little sour when the contestants started performing.

According to TMZ, Britney got annoyed when one hopeful starting performing her tune Hold It Against Me.

Rather than laughing it off, Britney apparently pushed her chair back and left the judging panel. Members of the audience claimed that the star looked visibly upset, with the term #britneywalksoff beginning to trend on Twitter.

After returning to the panel, Britney tweeted: ‘Texas has a lot of talent - seriously! Loving @TheXFactorUSA auditions so far...’

But after hearing that she’d been accused of walking off, Britney wrote another tweet, explaining her version of events.

She tweeted: ‘ #Britneywalksoff ??? LOL was just taking a little break people. I am having the BEST time!!!’

That’s right â€" if Britney wants to take a break half way through a performance then she damn well will. We can’t wait for the live shows.
