Now we all know women will go to any lengths to turn back the clock.
Expensive lotions, Botox injections and fillers to name but a few.
Our quest for eternal youth means the anti-ageing industry is worth billions and the number of UK women resorting to cosmetic Âprocedures has gone up 6% in the last year alone.
The latest beauty buzz to take Hollywood by storm is a sheep Âplacenta and gold flake facial.
Devised by a Harley Street GP, this Âunusual anti-wrinkle treatment takes 30 minutes, costs £320 and lasts for up to five days.
Victoria Beckham is said to be a fan and apparently the 38-year-old is a regular at dermatologist Dr Harold Lancerâs Beverly Hills clinic.
The principle behind the treatment is that it stimulates the skinâs natural collagen production by Âinfusing your skin with a particular protein contained in t he placenta.
Dr Lancer, whose clients are said to include Jennifer Lopez and Kim Kardashian, insists his placentas come from Âpremium New Zealand livestock so they have no impurities.
You can get it over here, too.
Â
London-based aesthetic Âsurgeon, Dr Roberto Viel, was the first doctor to pioneer the treatment in the UK.
He offers a similar treatment that involves having Âanaesthetic cream applied to the face followed by 15 Âminutes of having a derma-roller run over the face to stimulate blood flow.
The sheep placenta is then applied to the Âforehead.
This is Ârepeated three times on each area of the face.
But its not the only weird and Â(possibly) wonderful treatment on offer.

Nightingale Dropping Face Cream
Price: So expensive itâs usually priced on request
Victoria is also reportedly a devotee of a ânightingale pooâ facial made from excrement of a rare bird from the Japanese island of Kyushu.
This cream plumps up the skin but Âcombined with bee venom, itâs now seen as the latest in Âbeauty know-how.
The droppings are purified using UV light and mixed with rice bran to neutralise odours. Natural enzymes work by breaking down dead cells and cleansing the skin.

Purified or not, itâs still bird droppings being smeared on your face. Itâs cheaper to hang about near a flock of pigeons and hope for the best.
The Dracula Facial
Price: £1.650
Another slightly more spooky procedure to catch on is Dracula Therapy.
London-based anti-ageing expert Dr Sister has Âdeveloped a treatment that involves taking a sample of your own blood, mixing it with vitamin C and amino acids (proteins that build collagen) and injecting it in your face.
The first part of the Âtreatment involves the mixture being injected into the forehead, cheeks, smile lines and the skin around the eyes.
A fractional laser is used to Âdestroy microscopic dots of skin to encourage the skinâs regeneration.
A week after this phase, a Carboxy ÂTherapy Âtreatment is required, which involves putting a tiny needle into the face and pumping carbon dioxide in.
This causes the blood vessels to dilate and increases blood flow and oxygen levels.
A red pulse therapy is then used a further seven days later, stimulating collagen in the deep Âlayers of the skin.

We all know vampires are the big thing right now but this could be a step too far â" especially as itâs actually your own blood being removed and then injected back.
Gold Leaf Facial
Price: £350
Gold has long been Ârecognised for its beautifying properties.
Renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties, historians maintain Cleopatra slept in a gold mask every night to keep her skin looking youthful, and the queen of the Châing dynasty used a gold massage roller on her face every day.
Gold-based facial spa treatments are now top of the list of treatments at luxury spas and it is being used as an ingredient in expensive face creams.
Gold has been proven to fight off damaging free radicals, stimulate collagen production and to help prevent premature skin ageing.
Not surprisingly, these treatments donât come cheap.
? Barmy beauty rating: 6/10
This has got to be the ultimate in indulgence but youâll emerge much lighter in the cash department.
Caviar facial
Price: £200
Caviar is Âproving to be a hit in beauty spas. Itâs rich in amino acids, vitamins and  antioxidants and itâs claimed to Âmoisturise skin, help to repair sun damage and soften wrinkles.
? Barmy beauty rating: 5/10
Oily fish is good for you so maybe fish eggs could help... and if you donât like the feel of it you could possibly eat it instead.
Bee-sting masks
Price: £165
Beautician Deborah Mitchell can count a string of celebrities as fans of her non-surgical procedure, a Bee Venom mask to iron out Âwrinkles.
Duchess of Cornwall Camilla is even said to have introduced stepdaughter-in-law-to-be Kate Middleton to it ahead of last year's royal wedding.
This facial costs up to £165 but thereâs also a £55 cream, Heaven, which contains bee venom.
Itâs said to work by gently âstingingâ the skin, stimulating the body into Âproducing chemicals, which reduces wrinkles by relaxing and strengthening muscles.
Used twice a day for 20 minutes, the bee venom cream and facial is said to knock up to 10 years off middle-aged women.
? Barmy beauty rating: 7/10
Everyone knows thereâs no pain no gain but anything involving stinging might be a step too far for some.
