Katy Perry says she’ll show “everything” about her split from Russell Brand in her new film

Other than the odd emotional tweet about wanting to be a bird, Katy Perry has said an incredibly small amount about her split from Russell Brand.

But the singer has just confirmed that the aftermath of her split â€" which was caught on camera â€" will feature in a new movie about her life. 

Russell filed for divorce just a year after they got married back in January, when Katy (who went to the Billboard Awards as a mermaid yesterday) had started already filming scenes for her new 3D film Part Of Me.

The singer’s emotional few weeks (perhaps longer… but she did seem to get over it pretty fast) were recorded as part of the documentary, but given how private Katy has been about the split, it was thought she would edit them out.

However, last night Katy told Ellen DeGeneres that she will address the break up in Part Of Me.

Katy spoke on the Ellen show one week after her estranged husband did

The 27 year old said: “I thought it was important to show everything in between.

“I think sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not perfect, at all.

“I think it’s important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you always have to be perfect or flawless or live in some kind of fantasy world. So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film.

“In the most tasteful way. But mostly it’s about how I go there and the ride along the way which can be bumpy but mostly it was extremely fun.”

Bumpy? The first time Katy has described the end of her marriage and she used the word bumpy? Not quite the same as Russell admitting he still loved her last week, but we’ll take it.
