A&E bed shortage means patients are treated in corridors, nurses say

The Royal College of Nursing warns that patients are routinely left on trolleys, waiting an average of more than six hours, with one in six nurses reporting patients being left in ambulances because of a lack of beds.

Ministers promised swift action against hospitals breaking the rules on waiting times.
