Happy got lucky: Miley Cyrus rescues abandoned puppy found in a box outside supermarket

It's near impossible sticking to a shopping list when you're browsing the aisles of a supermarket. Everything always looks so delicious.

And this proves that even celebs can't resist picking up a few extra items. 

But when Miley Cyrus went to get her groceries at Walmart - presumably to buy loads of healthy stuff for her yoga lifestyle - she probably didn't expect to return home with a puppy.

The 19-year-old saw the helpless pooch abandoned outside the store and immediately took it

She explained: "He was left in a box in front of Walmart. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. That's why we named him Happy."

Smooch for the pooch: Miley, if you're reading this could we borrow your dog for ONE day? Please?

"He's a little boy. We're not 100% on the breed, but we think Rottweiler Beagle mix :)", she added of the adorable pup.

Happy will have plenty of chums to play dog games with - such as Chase The Tail and Bark At Nothing - as it joins Miley's growing brood of dogs Lila and Floyd - plus Ziggy, the pooch she gave to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth for his 22nd birthday.
